In the photos for this project I was trying to capture an emotion, feelings primarily of warmth, caring and closeness. The central idea is not about any one individual but about people helping people, about small individual deeds accumulating to become something greater, a community taking care of it’s own.

Some of these photos express that concept more clearly while in others it’s more sublime. But then sometimes a whisper is more powerful then a shout.

These three young blond friends were sharing a moment while picking out pumpkins…I believe for them, as well as me, it was more about the moment then the pumpkins — at least that’s what I felt. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

  2. I love this capture. Gorgeous ;)

  3. I like the mood of your capture of these youngsters having fun finding the “just right” pumpkin.

    • Don, they were probably talking about boys or something — not at all anything about pumpkins! ;-)

  4. These young gals are clearly in the moment! If you could have overheard the conversation I’ll bet ten dollars that it wasn’t about pumpkins!

  5. You captured the moment very nicely Earl.

My eyes must be failing or something — at first glance I thought they were walking with a bunch of ducks…

    • PJ, funny how the mind works. I hadn’t seen ducks in this photo until you mentioned it…now I think of ducks every time I look at it. Of course, thinking of little orange ducks makes me smile. Have a nice weekend!

  6. I think you did a good job in capturing the emotion, feelings of warmth, caring and closeness among these friends, even if they are not friends. In fact this is one of my favorites images I’ve seen you post on here. Earl, it has power within it.
