Mountain Panorama
Mountain Panorama - Maggie Valley, NC

What we have here is a wide-lens (24mm), two exposure, mountain panorama stitched together in Photoshop. I went back and forth between color or b&w in processing this image but finally landed upon b&w.

The photo(s) are from a scenic pull-over on Heintooga Ridge Road in Maggie Valley, NC.

  1. Awesome. The black and white works for me. I have never done a panoramic, another technic I still must try. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

  2. I like the quality of the black and white exposure and processing that put bright looking leaves on the trees and wonderful contrast throughout the image. Very well done.

  3. Wild Mustang Photography!

This is superb! Love the panoramic view! Great processing! Nice work!

  4. This looks awesome, what a view!
I think the b+w works great for these types of images, just look at those clouds and the fading horizon. Colour would have made my mind going in another direction, like how green it is and that is must rain a lot to get that hazy, and so on.
You have a good performer in the 24 mm lens, I can’t see any of the distortion I sometimes experience when stitching two such wide-angled photos. Excellent work.

    • Ove, thanks! I think you’re absolutely correct about color in this case. Yeah, this Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 is probably the best lens in my kit and one of my favorites.

  5. Earl, I really enjoyed the texture that you’ve drawn out through the b&w rendering.

  6. Hey Jim, thanks, I appreciate it.
