ebm_usnc_200904_4036-Edit-2.jpg The SoFoBoMo ’09 buzz is growing louder as May 1st (earliest start date) draws closer. Except for a few passing references I’ve avoided saying much–I’ll spare a few words here. :-)

We’re each observing, collecting, organizing and comparing information as we formulate our own ideas and plans for SoFoBoMo.

The work of others may be metrics to bounce our results and progress against but it’s most satisfying when we explore our individuality–our own method.

As stated in Daniel Quinn’s book Providence;

“What another would have done as well as you, do not do it. What another would have said as well as you, do not say it, written as well as you, do not write it. Be faithful to that which exists nowhere but in yourself–and thus make yourself indispensable.”

We’re all unique individuals with different experiences and backgrounds. SoFoBoMo is, in its own way, a grand celebration of this individuality. There is no better or worst, no first or second place. The only goal is to immerse yourself in the process, find your inspiration, listen to your inner voice and create your own vision–YOUR BOOK.

I look forward to seeing each or your results. Heck, I look forward to seeing my result. ;-)

  1. What a great post, Earl. I like sharing my ideas out in the open and reading the ideas of others. In the end, though, I know that I will do the book that my heart says to do, in the way that I intend to.

    Last year’s entries where all over the map. No two subjects were alike and no two books were alike, but all were interesting. All were unique. I’m sure that this year will be the same, except the quantity will be greater.

    I’m looking forward to seeing your effort, too, as well as my own. :-)

  2. I got a great chuckle out of that final statement. I am in the same boat. I’m looking forward to finding out what my book will be about. Time’s a wastin’.
