So, pollsters are finding Americans to be deeply pessimistic about the economy and the direction the country is heading.

Record numbers of home foreclosures, failing businesses and industries, climbing unemployment numbers, loss of retirement savings due to crashing global financial markets, two wars and the continuing threat of a terrorist act can tend to make one a bit pessimistic. ;-)

At the same time, for many Americans there is a light of hope for positive change following the recent election of Barack Obama as our next President. I find myself among this group and believe as the old saying says; “It’s darkest just before the dawn.”

That’s not to say I’m not concerned, I am, but we are where we are and we have to look to what it’s going to take to make a better tomorrow.

If I had to pick a song for this moment in time perhaps it would be Bob Dylan’s, “The Times They Are A-Changin.”
