With each photo I post of autumn colors I keep thinking this will be my final one for the year. But an afternoon raking and shredding leaves under our trees left me looking up at this — I couldn’t resist. The colors keep hanging on!

Around here the maples are among the last trees to drop their leaves. It does seem late in the year for even the maple leaves to be hanging on but they are beautiful, especially backlit like these. You may still have a few more days to enjoy the display.
