Note the long site length and the spacing between sites. WOW! Willow Tree RV Resort and Campground, Longs, SC

We’d decided we wanted to check out Willow Tree RV Resort and Campground in Longs, SC, before we begin our slow trek to Florida for late winter. Glad we did!

There are certain things that make a park appealing to the majority of RV’er such as long sites, good spacing between each sites, up-to-date hookups/facilities and being clean and well maintained. Willow Tree offers all of this and more.

Then there are things which appeal to some RV’ers but perhaps not all.  Bonnie and I prefer parks that are quiet and serene with lots of natural beauty and opportunities to walk and enjoy nature. We also like one that is dog friendly and where the neighbors seem mature and considerate. We don’t necessarily need or want a lot of commercialism just outside the gate. As long as we can drive to a good grocery store and a couple of good restaurants in 30 minutes or so, we are happy. Willow Tree fulfills our want list for a RV Park probably as close as any we’ve visited thus far.

There will no doubt be more visits to this great resort in our future.

  1. I had to Google Longs, SC to even know where it is! Looks like a great spot, and probably not a bad time of year to try and explore the Myrtle Beach area before the spring/summer crowds.

    • Yeah, Longs, SC, is not much more then a crossroad but it’s very convenient to the beach and areas without having to deal with all that’s Myrtle Beach. This resort is a gem and a real find. It will be on our list for a re-visit. I’ve noticed you’re posting a lot this week, have you had time off? :-)

      • We were away over the MLK weekend, but that’s been it so far. What actually happened is that I figured out how to schedule posts (not that it was hard, but I hadn’t taken the time) and changed my method for posting to Facebook that posts instantly instead of taking days. Then I managed to actually process some photos, and voila! ;)

  2. That does look inviting for RVers or anyone else. The first image looks like there was some cloud cover but blue skies after that. I assume Maggie agrees with your evaluation.

    • Monte, the difference in cloud cover can be explained by the images being made on different days. These are all iPhone images made during Maggie and my mile-plus walk around the lake each morning. So yes, Maggie would give this place a big thumbs up…if she had thumbs. :-)
