Only a few miles from the RV park we’re staying at in Leeds, UT, is the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and Recreation Area. This is a large beautiful wilderness area with many miles of hiking/walking trails.

After some less then perfect weather earlier this week we took Maggie for a enjoyable hike today. I’m sure it will be an area we’ll visit often. As you can see from these photos it’s a treat for the eyes as well.

  1. Wow! You’re really motoring around. St. George, UT, one of my favorite places to visit. I never made it to Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, but it sure looks like my kind of place!

    • Red Cliffs will probably be a regular visit for us while we’re in the area as it’s only 3 miles from our RV park and let’s us quickly get needed exercise and fresh air. Beginning next week we’ll start branching out for longer trips in southern Utah and northern Arizona — Zion, Bryce and the northern rim of the Grand Canyon to name a few.

  2. Never been to the St. George area but know my parents and my sister and brother in law enjoy the area. Your images does show how beautiful it is.

    • It’s a beautiful area and most importantly the weather is still very mild here. It’s our early spring hide-out for the next month or so while we wait for warmer weather to the north.

  3. Beautiful shots! Hope Maggie is keeping away from those cactus needles!

    • Initially, Mark, I was a little worried about Maggie and the many cactus along the trails but she seems to instinctively give them plenty of room. I’m not aware that she has sampled their sharpness but let’s hope she let’s them be. Thanks.
