  1. Happy to see you’re enjoying Nebraska, Brooks. It is a pretty state (very similar to eastern Colorado). Sorry I haven’t commented in a while but my PC “died” last week (HD failed). Never had a HD give up the ghost before. Luckily all my important stuff was backed up on an external HD (like all my photographs). Anyway, after all these years as a PC guy I’ve finally switched to Apple. You’re never too old to learn new stuff, right?

    • Sorry to hear about your PC, Paul, but I’ve had a couple of HD failures over the years. Considering how fast they spin and the less-then-a-hair tolerances it’s a wonder they’re as reliable as they are. Welcome to the light side my friend. There will probably be things about the Apple that will drive you nuts until you lose the bad habits of Windows but I’ve never looked back “into the darkness” since I made the switch to Apple years ago. Nope…never too old! That my story and I’m sticking to it! :-)

  2. My brother-in-law would love these images as he was an engineer for the BNSF for 30 years.

    • Wow, 30 years. You just don’t hear of people these days having that kind of one job longevity. This particular train seemed to be miles long and had a couple of engines in the rear as well.

  3. Even though I’m from Nebraska and have seen much of what you’re seeing, it’s always good to see it again! Did you make it to Hastings? That’s my home town…

    • Hi John, I remember seeing the sign for Hastings as we came east on I-80 to the Omaha/Lincoln area but we didn’t stop. Do you still have close family there? We’re trying to see as much as we can while balancing the job time requirements and our personal time. We think Nebraska is lovely.
