Row upon row of discarded farm equipment.
Row upon row of discarded farm equipment. Sikeston, MO

“We live in a disposable society. It’s easier to throw things out than to fix them. We even give it a name – we call it recycling.” ~~ Neil LaBute

Over 260 miles driven today from Sikeston to Branson, MO. It was a good travel day but we had to set up in the rain at Branson. We remain here until Sunday, when we depart for Tulsa, OK.

  1. A combine boneyard…sweet! That would be a great place to spend some time with a camera.

    • Yeah, Tom, I wish I could have actually gotten to them. I had to shoot over a high fence to get this shot. I think they were selling parts from them and were afraid someone would help themselves to a five finger discount…or perhaps it was just the liability if someone got hurt on them.

    • I agree with Tom, I think one could spend a lot of time photographing a place like this. Cool shot Earl.

  2. We can find some amazing images in graveyards. I could see Tom spending a bit of time wandering here, as well as myself.

    • Yea, it can make for some great photos but I can’t help thinking it seems like such a waste when if this equipment was fixed and working even though old would be high tech to so many third world farmers. But I guess there’s no profit in that.
