Intermittent software issues with my main computer, a local hard drive failure in a back-up unit, setting up a home DLNA media server with an older, essentially unused, Mac Mini, and replacing a noisy fan on a NAS unit in my office has kept me engaged on the technical front recently.  Expect perhaps a few “Technical” post from this later on — once I see if my technical fixes indeed are fixes!

Photography still occupies many of my thoughts but those thoughts haven’t been put into practice much recently.  I’ll blame part of it on the weather but I’ll also readily acknowledge that to be a weak excuse.

I’m in awe of those photographers/bloggers I regularly follow who take and publish photographs almost every day — some of who have done so for years.  Yours is a special love, devotion and/or talent.

  1. Sounds like you’re having way too much fun, Earl. Looking forward to hearing about the resolution. In the mean time, a couple of nice photos.

I agree with you, it’s had enough to write a post per week, let alone one or more a day.

And don’t visit all those wineries just the two of you! :)

  2. I do love the first image. Touches something within me.

I also envy those photographers who post on a daily basis as I’m one who falls short of that goal. Heck, I’m not sure it’s even a goal for me. I’m one who enjoys the time with a camera. You are the busy man with all the technical fixes. I smile, since my setup is a simple 13′ MacBook and a couple of external hard drives. Nothing compared to the setup you have. It never really thought about the support efforts required to have a major setup.

  3. I also have to admire those that keep at it every day. Perhaps for some it has been as ingrained in their daily activity as much as brushing their teeth has.

  4. Daily posting is not a goal for me but I share your admiration for those who do so seemingly effortlessly and all the while maintaining a nice level of quality.

  5. I agree with your comment about some bloggers and their discipline. Inspiring and sometimes intimidating. A while ago, I just stopped trying to keep up and post when I can. The last thing I need is another obligation. Lovely images.

  6. @All….thanks!
