Not a lot of photography, or blog following, happening at the moment. It’s a mental and physical “pause” — and I’m going with the flow and doing more reading.  Hence, I pull this image from the archives of last years Italy vacation.

No doubt the urge will return as will the posting — perhaps when this every day rain stops and  the sun returns.

  1. Doing much the same here Earl… I think it’s good to do now and then. Enjoy the down time.

  2. Maybe it’s just that time of year, Earl. I’m sure it’s temporary and soon things will pick up again but I do understand the feeling.
Great photo. How did this not make the first cut?

  3. I’m beginning to think we all should take a month or two off this time of year. We all wind up digging through the “archives” just because we don’t want to go out. It’s either too cold or too wet or too gray or just plain too depressing to do anything meaningful with a camera. Not to put too fine a point on it, but being outside in the winter sucks…….

    • Paul, you’re probably right about taking a month off. I usually face some winter depression this time of year but it’s hit harder this year because we’ve been having so much cold rain lately.

  4. We got a break from our cold spell a couple of days ago and saw 60 degrees. I have not been feeling well and so far have missed out on the fun. What rotten timing. Every year, I have the winter blah’s a couple of times. Reading your way through it and remembering a fabulous trip sounds like the perfect way to cope.

  5. Well, when the sun returns, I hope you are outside and not behind the computer! :-)

  6. I know the feeling. Take all the time you need.

  7. So, Earl, what are you reading?

  8. Enjoy the time “off”. I take more than I should away from posting, but sometimes it gets difficult coming up with ideas – taking a break can “recharge” the batteries.

  9. Thanks everyone…no doubt I will be back soon!
