“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

During one of our explorations we came upon an area of forest Maggie is perfectly camouflaged for — she could all but disappear if she were to lay in the leaves.

Not to worry — Maggie ever stops moving for long on these walks and she’s taken it upon herself to insure I don’t disappear as I try to keep up.

Have a good weekend…next weeks photo’s will have a Christmas theme.

  1. Good thing that she keeps moving, Earl. I’d hate for you to have to go back and tell Bonnie that Maggie “just disappeared right before my eyes!” :D

    • Maggie’s always been a “mover” hardly ever staying still in her waking moments. It was one of the ways she was so different then Foster. I’d probably search the forest day and night if she ever disappeared. Thanks, Paul.

  2. This wooded are reminds me of one we frequent a lot. Last year a family lost their dog in the wood. They has a search team of friends and family out looking for him and they did find him. He was just a puppy and very spirited and I guess he got too excited about being out. He probably won’t do that again.
Any I really like the photo.

    • Ken, thanks. We have a lot of Pine forest here but this particular one is mostly hardwood, which makes it so nice to walk in. A dog so quickly becomes a member of he family and loosing them bring up all those same emotions.

  3. Wow, I did not see her when I first looked at the image, she blended in so well. I’m also glad she is watching you and making sure you do not get lost. I agree with Paul, explaining how you lost her to Bonnie would not be easy.

    • Monte, Yeah it was so apparent how well Maggie blended in with the surrounding at this particular spot that I had to get a photo of it. Explaining it to Bonnie would be hard but explaining it to myself would be even worst — Maggie has become very much my dog because of all the time I spend with her. :-)
