Earl Moore Photography

“One bulb at a time. There was no other way to do it. No shortcuts–simply loving the slow process of planting. Loving the work as it unfolded. Loving an achievement that grew slowly and bloomed for only three weeks each year.” — Jaroldeen Asplund Edwards, The Daffodill Principle

Because there are no real shortcuts, in gardening or in photography, one is most satisfied when they learn to live in the moment and enjoy the process. We work, we practice and the rewards come afterwards.

The heat is upon us this weekend with 100°F+ temperatures predicted and most of the outdoors activity will be done early morning or late evening.

I thought the artist captured a wonderful look of contentment on the face of this bronze statue.

  1. This is a superb image, Earl. The monochrome is perfect for it. Stay cool.

    • Ken, thanks, I appreciate that. We’re trying to stay cool…102.4 in the shade of our front porch yesterday at 4pm.

  2. So right, Earl. What short cuts we sometimes take can end up being long cuts. Stay cool by finding a bit a shade, a cooling drink, maybe drive with the top down or all the above. Have a super weekend!

  3. Was 103 here yesterday, fortunately with not so much humidity. Toning is nice on this Earl. You are right, expression well portrayed in bronze.

  4. I just came in from a short walk and the temperature was only 59 degrees.

    • Steve, way to rub it in…. :-) It did get down to 72 this morning, after a high of over 100 yesterday, so I got a walk with our dog done before 7am this morning.

  5. That most certainly is a wonderful expression. I doubt that I could manage such an expression this weekend, out in the heat. Heck, it might be an expression of delirium. :D
