Busy as a Bee - Spring
Busy as a Bee - Spring

The other day, while photographing the beauty of spring, it struck me this time of year is enjoyed by many more living creatures than man. For many it’s a time of abundant food, shelter and added security — a time to begin working to rebuild the resources consumed during the winter and a time of new life for many who may only experience one cycle of seasons, or less.

Here’s a question for you; “If you had only one cycle of seasons to live (a year), what would you photograph?

Perhaps your answer gives insight into what you should be photographing now. ;-)

  1. Awesome question to ask us to ponder. My first impulse says Spring but Fall would have to close behind, if not neck-to-neck. The changing of the seasons is what I like about each of them, entering into them as well as leaving them, birth and death. Yet the quiet of Winter is refreshing to the spirit as we stay inside more. But, the warmth of Summer brings us out of our homes to enjoy the sun and nature. I guess I will have to say I want to live all of them.

    • Monte, my question was more than a little unclear, what I meant to as was basically “If you had but one year to live, a single cycle of the four seasons, what you want to photograph — photographic work to leave behind representing you?” But I kinda liked the way you took it too…and good answer! :-)

  2. Oh, and that’s a nice image you selected.

  3. I think I would have to pick spring even though fall is a close second. Interesting question. I like your close up of the pretty blossom with the visitor in good detail.

  4. No original thoughts on my part. Spring edging out competition, followed closely by Fall, then (in spite of how much I whine about the cold) Winter. But, all the seasons are, in a sense, my favorites. The “point difference” in rating is quite small. I can’t imagine missing summer mornings and evenings. Delicious.

What a marvelous image to remind us of the wonders of Spring. There is a wonder and excitement about that time of year that is heady.
