Apple OS X Security Update 2009-004

Apple has released Security Update 2009-004 v1.0 for OS X (Leopard). This update is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. The update is approximately 10 Mb and can be installed via Software Update.

Thanks for the update, Earl. Now, I’m all up to date on OS X! Are you planning on doing a post about the new features of Snow Leopard? It comes out soon, no?

Yes, Snow Leopard should be out sometime next month. I doubt I’ll do anything with a lot of detail about Snow Leopard–there will be hundreds or thousands of web sites doing that as soon as it is released. :-)

I do plan on upgrading and may post some of my impressions.

Great reminder to keep the OS patched while we wait for Snow Leopard. If you are still running on OS X 10.5. the following are great baseline guides for security implementation:
