SoFoBoMo: Standing just shy of the finish line

Bridge on Lake

I believe, except for minor editing, my SoFoBoMo ‘09 book is finished. However, I’m not releasing it until near the 31 day mark, around the 1st of June. This delay may be a matter of my own nerves or wanting to have every chance to view it with fresh eyes before I let it go. You do tend to put a lot into one of these so it becomes important that it’s as good as possible.

Going into this project I felt in control but once I began the book it was almost as if it was driving me–there was a number of unplanned course changes and rearrangements. I can be a bit of a control freak so this put me outside my comfort zone.

For the first time in a while I took photographs today. I hadn’t realized how much I’d been missing it. With recent construction at our house and working on this book I’d not made the time–my mistake, I should have.

The photo the lake at Dan Nicholas Park near Salisbury, NC. There’s ducks, geese, turtles and fish in the lake and they do allow fishing. There also a campground with RV sites behind the lake plus family attractions. It has a nice walking trail around the lake and is a good place to stretch your legs. This bridge is at one end of the lake and is part of the walking trail.

Update 05/21/09: Bonnie, my wife, feels my book is ready for release. I value her opinion so I may reconsider and release it in the next day or so. Sorry for the drama! ;-)

Wow – you are really fast, and I do envy this feeling of having get something substantial done. Mine still has not even started – photo occasions here in sri lanka are so inconsistent that I still do not declare the start. Anyhow, there are some more weeks and changes of location.

@Markus: As you said there are still weeks to go and this isn’t a race. I’m looking forward to seeing your results. :-)
