Being in the moment

I quietly sat down on the bank of a small pond deep within the woods to watch the insects swarm around flowering reeds and plants. The insects of course moved off, not being sure of my intentions. I was not part of their normal world.

First I felt anxious being still, motionless and somehow out of place. But as the seconds turned into minutes the anxiety became calmness and then pleasure with my role of merely watching, listening and being. As I slipped deeper into experiencing that which surrounded me there was acceptance as insects once again resumed there visits close by.

I came hoping to find a good photo but for a few minutes I found more.
