Photos: Celebrate the Accidents

How many inventions or accomplishments happen through accident? I’m not sure there’s accurate statistics but I venture a shocking large amount.

The abstract photo above was not “Photoshopped,” it’s for the most part presented just as taken. I doubt I could reproduce it if I tried. I like it and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the swirling colors or the grainy pattern, but yes, I like it.

This shot was the result of a finger accidentally hitting the shutter release button while walking along the beach near a lit pier late one evening. I believe the orange swirls are the piers lights reflecting off the wet sheen of sand.

If a young child, a dog or a cat had done this it would probably be declared wonderfully gifted art and worth a mint.

But alas for me it’s only an accidental photo I happen to like. ;-)
