200808131313.jpg I’m always watching for new and interesting “gadgets” to entertain and/or add value to my computing or photography pursuits. Here I’m sharing some of my more interesting finds.

Kenyon Laboratories has a solution for steady photo shots even when hand shooting from a moving or unstable platform.

“Using the Gyro Stabilizer on a camera, one can obtain clear crisp shots from unusual situations, from a plane or helicopter our units will dampen out the motor and rotor vibration. When shooting at low light levels one can get large format pictures with slower shutter speeds or slower film , without the encumbrance of a tripod.”

The gyro stabilizers can be power by belt worn battery packs for mobility. The stabilizer attaches to the tripod mount on the bottom of most cameras.

I don’t know I’ll ever have need for one of these but if you were planning on shooting a series of shots from a boat or plane this “gadget” could be mighty helpful.

They’re not cheap with a purchase price of approximately $1,500 but there is also rental options beginning at about $200/month.
