Renaissance Man: Overestimating threats and other parental traps

200804161506.jpg Richard Querin has written an interesting post on the topic of overestimating the threats and dangers for our children and fear mongering that pervades media and society.

Sure, all this stuff gets to me once in a while too, but then I force myself to step back and realize that having children (or adults) paralyzed by fear and anxiousness is not the way we should be living our lives…

I totally agree, living a life in fear is not living!

Fear mongering isn’t just affecting our children. We’re all bombarded 24/7 by negativity in our media. There’s many good things happening each day in this world but they seem lost in the overwhelming flood of “bad/fearful news” presented in current media.

I believe our society as a whole has becoming more fearful when dealing with others and everyday events.
