I was playing around with the new Apple Aperture 2.0 photographic workflow application trial this morning and I noticed that the 10,000 photos per project limit had been removed.

Had this been removed in the later versions of Aperture 1.x?

I don’t know if there is a higher limit in version 2.0 or not. I got up to about 18,000 photos in one project without an issue.

I’m very impressed with Aperture 2.0 thus far. It’s very fast with a better user interface and some excellent new adjustment tools. The integration to (dot) mac and iphoto are well done also.

Almost all the shortcomings of Aperture that I’d noted before seem to have been addressed and for me it’s more intuitive then Adobes Lightroom application, which I’m using now.

  1. Apple upped the per-project limit to 100,000 photos from 10,000, and removed the 100,000 photo limit on the number of thumbnails that can be shown at a time in the browser.
