Thanks to the kindness of some of the folks my daughter-in-law works with, she and my wife and I attended the Stevie Wonder “A Wonder Autumn Night” tour at the Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC last night.

Stevie has definitely not lost anything over the years and the performance last night, which he dedicated to his mother, was excellent. His message was of love and stopping the hatred in the world. Along with a few of his newer songs he also did many of his classics. His daughter, Aisha, is accompanying and performing with Stevie on this tour. She has an excellent voice in her own right.

This is Stevie’s first tour in 14 years.

Stevie also got the audience involved with a sing-along of “Ribbon in the Sky” and by relating the story of how he wrote “My Cherie Amour” as a 15 year old boy trying to impress a young girl he had a crush on.

Our seats were wonderful, up-front and four rows back. While this was a great vantage point to view Stevie perform I can’t say it was the best as far as acoustics. We were hearing feedback and being over powered by bass at some points.

Overall, a great performance and fun evening!
