It’s been a fast and busy weekend. The wife and I continue our home renovations. This past week the painting of our dining room was finished so we moved to applying finishing touches in the form of drapes, paintings, lamps, etc. This almost completes our quest to refresh the house, removing most traces of stale wallpaper. I’ll be glad when it’s all done, at least for a while.

My next immediate project is to build the first of perhaps two extensions for our dining room table to allow us to seat eight or eventually ten at one setting. The deadline for this first extension is of course Thanksgiving.

Now, for all of those who are returning to work tomorrow and feel they are restricted or monitored by too closely by their workplace you might check out the “Surf at Work Page” for some hints of maintaining a low profile.

Or, you can spend a few moments admiring the work of those among us who see possibilities in the most ordinary of objects. Yes, they’ve got mail.

  1. Sounds like fun, Earl. We are about to embark on a similar adventure. Sunday morning I was all gung-ho and went to the guest room, taped it off for painting, patched holes, etc. Now, I’m just waiting for the ‘boss’ to decide on paint color, etc, then I’ll start painting and hanging curtains, etc.

Our goal is to complete 2 rooms by Thanksgiving. The guest room and the master bed room. We’ve been in the house for 3 years, so it’s about time!

Good luck on your remodel. We’ll do lunch one day when you have a break. :-)

  2. Its always great to spend your week-ends in house renovation works. The more time you spend on them the more you are going to love your home. What a Great story!
