Rumors of OS X Leopard release

The rumor mills are turning full speed now as to the release timing of Apple’s OS X 10.5, Leopard.  The most credited date seems to be Friday, October 26th, possibly at 6pm.  These same rumor mills are saying that Apple will probably announce the official date in the next day or so.

While I most definitely will be upgrading to Leopard, I’m not that interested in being the very first.  Perhaps late November would be a good time to make the plunge.

I wonder how those rumors get started. I think that you should wait for the release of Lion, Jaguar, or perhaps Panther or Lynx, just to be safe! :-)

    Hi Paul,

Actually Jaguar and Panther have already been used for names of previous versions of OS X. The current version is Tiger and version 10.5 will be Leopard. I’ve got no idea why Apple started using big cat names for OS X naming.
