It’s been reported and confirmed by Engadget that the iPhone has been successfully unlocked via software courtesy of iPhoneSimfree.com.  Not only does this unlock the iPhone but it’s also upgrade and restore resistant. It took less then two months to hack an unlock for the iPhone.

The rumor mills are once again turning at full speed as September 5th has been identified as the the date of a future Apple press event.  What is being rumored for this event is the announcement of new iPods, some running Mac OS X and perhaps full-screened, much like the iPhone. While this is indeed rumor, logic tells us it’s more about the when then the what….  This technology has already been displayed in the iPhone and it would be unreasonable for Apple not to scale it to their iPod product line.

I had a letter that I needed to quickly complete this morning so I used the iWorks 08, Pages, application.  I have to say that the more I use Pages the more I like it.It has all the basic tools one needs for “normal” word processing and it’s very intuitive and user friendly.  You can use it and not feel like you’re being over-whelmed by the program, as I often feel when I use Microsoft Word.Pages is becoming a nice fit for me and the fact that it can export in Word’s “.doc” format is a great bonus.
