Friends and Coworkers

by Earl Moore on June 24, 2007

I had the opportunity to have lunch last Wednesday with three people I worked with for many years.  They continue to work for the same company and many of their comments about work quickly reminded me that it’s the people and friends that I’ve missed, certainly not the company or the job.

I don’t think most of us appreciate those we share so much of our life’s with, those colleagues and coworkers that we see each day.  They often become real friends but are labeled as something less.

These three are good friends and I am grateful I was able to demonstrate my own friendship when l departed.  I look forward to seeing them often in the future.

Oh so true, Earl. I have a few friends from the various jobs that I’ve had. I still talk to them from time to time. As a matter of fact, my friend Lawrence and I did some fishing at his house over the weekend.

Going to work and just working is terribly boring! I have 4 friends on this project on which I’m currently working. Three of them are now gone. One is visiting in India for 5 weeks. Another had to return to India, and the third, her contract ended. It was a great loss. I felt adrift for a while.
