I had the opportunity to have lunch last Wednesday with three people I worked with for many years. They continue to work for the same company and many of their comments about work quickly reminded me that it’s the people and friends that I’ve missed, certainly not the company or the job. I don’t think most of us appreciate those we share so much of our life’s with, those colleagues and coworkers that we see each day.
Apple iTunes now holds a 9.8% of market share of the US music retail business moving ahead of Amazon and following closely behind Walmart (15.8%) and Best Buy (13.8%) according to a recent report from market research firm NPD. Digital music only accounts for 13.8% of total sales of music in the US with physical CD sales still accounting for 86.2% of all sales. The iTunes move is notable because the NPD report considered all retailers, including brick and mortar stores, and not just on-line retailers.
