Books: The Swarm

by Earl on June 17, 2007

in Books

The more the stories are anchored in reality the more believable the story and them more I enjoy them.I don’t usually do book reviews here, but I recently finished reading an excellent Novel called “The Swarm” by Frank Schatzing.  The Swarm is a techno-thriller about man’s terrible destruction of the Earth’s fragile ecology and the resulting consequences when the real keepers of the Earth determine we are a threat to their existence….  Frank Schatzing is a German author who case a very believable story based on the current day situation.

The Internet, Promises Unfulfilled

by Earl on June 17, 2007

in Observations

There was a time when I thought that the most promising aspects of the Internet was that, at least initially, everyone had the opportunity for equality….  So we shouldn’t expect much more. These are some late thoughts brought about by the recent “age and innovation” discussions (ref: Fred Wilson and Dave Winer)….  Maybe, real discussions can’t take place due to personal interest, prejudices and preformed opinions as hinted at in Kent’s post.
