A few photos of my remodeled office

by Earl Moore on June 1, 2007

I mentioned that we had been working to remodel my office over the Memorial Day weekend.  Here’s a few photos of results thus far.  We had the old stained carpet replace with hardwood flooring and painted the walls.  We also turned a closet into an alcove with additional storage.

It looks a little sparse at the moment.

I don’t have everything connected or back in place but I do have the network and my computers working.  I still need to get some photo’s and pictures on the walls.  Some nice B&W photos I think.

While painting, I also painted my desk black.  The wall color is Burgundy…like the wine. It looks better in person then it shows in these photos.

So now you know where I spend time at.

The office looks great! Love the hardwood. A definite improvement.

Thanks! It’ll be even better once I get everything done.

I have to get use to how easy my office chair rolls now. :-)

Oh… I never thought about that. I imagine it could be a bit dangerous backing up too quickly. Especially with the shelves and the printer behind you there.

Great Looking office Earl. Jamie and I particularly enjoyed the nice dual monitors. It looks like you have your own IT room in the house. Very nice and neat.

    Hi Jim,
It is pretty high tech IT wise for a home. I control all the computers from those two monitors. One is a Linux machine duel booting Ubuntu and OpenSuse, another is an older Mac Pro running OS X Server and is my media sever for movies and music (RAID protected on a network SAN) which any computer can access, and the third is my main daily computer.

I can switch between them using either a switch box or remote desktop software. Okay…a little overkill maybe! :-)
