Steve Jobs: Best salary bang-for-the-buck CEO?

Question: What corporation in America is getting the best bang for their salary bucks from their CEO?

Answer: Apple and Steve Jobs

CNN Money reported that Apple CEO Steve Jobs once again was paid US$1 in annual salary in 2006, with no bonuses.
The majority of compensation is paid through equity grants. No new grants were awarded to Jobs in 2006. However, a 2003 stock grant became fully vested in 2006 which gives Steve Apple stock worth approximately $1 billion.

CEO compensation should be in the form of stock grants. A CEO’s fortune should be tied directly to fortune of the company. Do a good job, and both the company and the CEO prospers!

Apple now ranks No. 121 on the 2007 Fortune 500.

I’ve got to agree with that. Pay for performance! He doesn’t sound like he’s underpaid; that’s for sure!
