Apple today announced that the release of OS X 10.5, Leopard, has been pushed back to October 2007 while the iPhone remains on schedule for a late June release. In an Apple statement:

…iPhone contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device, and finishing it on time has not come without a price — we had to borrow some key software engineering and QA resources from our Mac OS X team, and as a result we will not be able to release Leopard at our Worldwide Developers Conference in early June as planned.

…We think it will be well worth the wait. Life often presents tradeoffs, and in this case we’re sure we’ve made the right ones.

Personally, I would rather have Leopard instead of the iPhone in June, but I know where the money rides.

The only other thing I can add is that I’m sure this feels like a little justice for many Microsoft fans.

I’m actually glad you’re getting a chance to get a little back. I’m just planning on taking my verbal beatings quietly, like a man. :-)
