Don Imus made comments that were clearly objectionable and degrading to the Rudgers Women’s Basketball Team and women in general. However, there’s also a bigger view of this issue that should be discussed.

I would recommend reading the following post on the subject by Michelle Malkin…

Michelle Malkin: Imus vs. the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks Chart (language warning)

Amen, Michelle!

I agree totally with Michelle Malkin. I have tried to call in to Rev. Al’s radio talk show and have sent the site an e-mail. His mailbox is supposedly full and his line is always busy. Funny though, the callers that are getting through are congresspersons or persona that are in sync with him. Have you noticed no black people of average intelligence or less want to hear from Bill Cosby?

  2. Roland:

It’s not got anything to do with race or intelligence. People as a whole perfer to hear the message they’ve already settled upon and will naturally listen more to those that support this point of view. It’s the easy way out.

Of course in many of cases we’re dealing with personal, political or financial agendas that have little to do with the “proclaimed issue.”

I guess it depends upon your definition of freedom. The fact that here in America we can even have this type of discussion with both sides being able to openly present their opinion is a large part of freedom.

In many parts of the world you don’t see this sort of thing happening because there is no freedom. Freedom when working is seldom attractive when viewed from the outside.

We here in America are not always right, but we do not worry for our lives about being wrong.
