I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I enjoyed mine. The time with the family was treasured, and I think everyone was pleased with the gifts. I happened to skip getting clothing this year. Instead I got some wonderful books, a GARMIN GPS, a WACOM Graphics Tablet, and some other nice things. Nope, I can’t complain at all this year. I certainly received gifts totally out of proportion to how good I’ve been! So much for Santa’s list.

I think a lot of people must of received GARMIN GPS’s this year. I tried to get on the GARMIN web site to register the unit and download the latest software and it was almost non-fuctional due to what might of been heavy traffic load.

One surprise I did get over the last two days was a quick need to move this blog to another server. Since December 15th I’d been having some issues with this site that was preventing me from uploading data and was causing slow-downs and time-outs. I’d contacted my host and they came back that they were working on it and it was a known problem due to my current server running out of disk space. I’m more then a little surprised they are using static disk and not a SAN with virtual LUNs. But, I’ve been with them for several years so perhaps this was one of their older servers.

My host recommended as a long term fix to move to another server. Using my back-ups I moved this site late Sunday (24th Dec) to the new server and they changed the DNS IP address to the new server early Monday morning (25th). It appeared to go very smoothly and as far as I can tell we’re up and running 100%. I’d appreciate any feedback if you notice anything questionable in the operation of this blog.
