It’s been some time since my last post so I’ll jot down some thoughts about current or recent events:

  • I was expecting something special from Apple for the 30 anniversary but there isn‚Äôt any sign of it yet. I still think there will be something that Apple springs at the last minute.
  • The Microsoft Vista delay announcement was one of those unsurprising surprises. From reading many of the blog comments, the ones most surprised were Microsoft employees working in the Windows Group. I would have been more surprised if Microsoft had actually been able to ship Vista on time.
  • No matter what the status of the war in Iraq, President Bush has definitely lost the publicity war. This should have been one of his top priorities since a majority of Americans seem to take the media reports at face value. I‚Äôm not sure that we as Americans any longer have what it takes for multi-year military struggles with casualties. We are soft and seem to be a nation of diagnosed ADD sufferers. Was the invasion of Iraq justified? I don’t know. I’m sure we are still not aware of all the information that was available at the highest of levels. Therefore, I will still give a benefit of doubt on this subject. If that was not so…then shame on Bush.
  • Illegal immigration is like illegal drugs. You‚Äôre not going to stop it by creating laws about and/or against it. All you‚Äôll do is create a way for people to exploit and make money off it. How many years have we been trying to stop illegal drug use‚Ķhas it worked? America has always been a melting pot for cultures from around the world. That is our history, our culture, and part of our strength. We need to find a way to assimilate this new influx of people into to our society in such a manner that they can become successful and a benefit to us all as a whole.
