in Site Policies

The general theme of this site is “using technology and processes to improve individual capabilities and understanding”, and the slogan is “moving forward one step at a time”.

In support of both the theme and slogan, I will offer from time-to-time personal reviews of software, services, and possible hardware, that I have personal experience with. These reviews will not be detailed feature-by-feature reviews. They will be overviews.

Some of the areas that will be consider when doing reviews are:

  • Ease of use for the intended task;
  • Capabilities and results for the intended task;
  • Performance and time savings for the intended task;
  • Learning curve required to use the product;
  • Over-all presentation; and
  • Cost and return on investment.

Ratings will be based upon a 5-star system and will consist of:

[rate 0.0] – EXTREMELY POOR

[rate 1.0] – POOR

[rate 2.0] – FAIR

[rate 3.0] – GOOD

[rate 4.0] – RECOMMENDED

[rate 5.0] – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The information in these reviews are my own personal opinions and should not be used as the sole basis of making decisions.
